Our Young Carer team offers a range of support, including 1-to-1 mentoring, youth clubs for different ages, trips and activities during schools holidays
Carers’ Resource has been supporting young carers in Harrogate and Craven for over 25 years. In 2019 we expanded into the Bradford district and in 2022 into Selby.
We recognise the strengths, resilience, and potential in every young carer, and we are passionate about helping them feel valued, listened to, and supported to thrive. Our approach is person-centred, meaning we take time to understand each young person’s individual experiences, needs, interests, and goals.
We provide safe spaces where young carers can relax, have fun, build friendships, and enjoy spending time with others who understand their experiences. We also create opportunities for young carers to try new activities, develop confidence, and discover new strengths and interests.
Young carers are at the heart of everything we do. We actively listen to their views, ideas, and feedback so they can help shape the activities, trips, and support we provide. By giving young carers a voice and involving them in decisions, we aim to make sure they feel empowered, included, and able to influence the support they receive.
