Trips and Activities

Trips and activities are a great way for young carers to get some respite from their caring roles and also meet other young carers and make new friends. The young carers help us decide which activities to plan, and we try to make sure that joining us on the trips really has a positive impact.

Some trips can be challenging – like paddle boarding or climbing, this helps young carers to be resilient. Other trips concentrate on wellbeing – like a day spent with animals at a farm, or a day at the beach.

Description

Staying Safe Online Share and Learn (AbilityNet - West Yorkshire) September 30th 2025 at 11:00 - online event via Video Communication Platform ZOOM.

Carers UK is working in partnership with AbilityNet to run a helpful and informative session for carers in West Yorkshire, focused on helping carers and the people they care for to stay safe online.

The session will explore the many ways scammers try to target people – from financial and energy scams to fake websites, QR codes, and suspicious messages. You will learn how to spot the warning signs, how to protect yourself and the person you care for, and what to do if something goes wrong. We will also explain how to report a scam and where to find support.

There will be time for questions, so if you have experienced a scam or have something specific you would like to ask, please email Carers UK at digital.products@carersuk.org so we can ensure your questions are answered. You will have the opportunity to ask more questions during the session.

Click here to register to attend the online session from your own smartphone, computer or tablet at home.

Want to take part but don't have access to a digital device at home, or not confident about logging on to video communications (e.g. Zoom)?

To coincide with this online Share and Learn session, Carers' Resource Digital Inclusion Team will be hosting a face to face event at our Shipley Office.

If you are interested in finding out how to stay safe online, but are not confident using the Zoom online video platform? Why not  come along to this in-person event. The Carers' Resource Digital Inclusion Team will set up the Share and Learn video session on the big screen and and we can watch along together. Refreshments will be provided and our team will be on hand to help with any of your queries around internet safety.

For more information, or to register your interest in the face to face watch along event, contact our Digital Inclusion Coordinators Eileen and Michaela on 01274 449660 or email digital.inclusion@carersresource.org
