We are looking for Personal Assistants to join a small established team to support a young lady in the Skipton area at weekends.

Weekend shifts

 Saturday 8-4pm/4-10pm & occasional Sundays

Experience of supporting someone with autism is preferred but not essential, but having a willingness to learn and have a positive caring and compassionate attitude is key to supporting this young lady to fulfil her aspirations.  

You must hold a full, current driving licence and be willing to drive a vehicle, due to insurance requirements the applicant must be 25 or over. Pet lovers a must.

Role description:

based in the Hambleton/Richmond locality with frequent travel across the area, with a regular presence at James Cook hospital

You will develop relationships with appropriate hospital and community teams and directly provide short-term support (no personal care) to clients in their own homes after discharge, particularly in the North of the area.

Joining an experienced team, you will be confident in working flexibly and independently in the community and within hospital settings. Ideally with an understanding of the issues that can arise post-discharge, you will have:

  • Experience in assessing client needs and support planning
  • Experience in supporting people in their own homes
  • Confidence in liaising with hospital staff, community health & social care  
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience of working within a hospital environment will be an advantage
