Carers’ Resource raises awareness of unpaid carers at Harrogate Christmas Fayre 2021

Carers’ Resource raised awareness of unpaid carers by giving away leaflets and advice along with free Christmas chocolates at Harrogate Christmas Fayre on Thursday December 9.

Generous donations from shoppers also raised £250 for the charity, which supports unpaid carers who are looking after family and friends in the Harrogate, Craven and Bradford districts.

Jeff McGillan from Cadbury kindly donated mini chocolate puddings for the charity to distribute alongside leaflets and newsletters.

Chris Whiley, CEO at Carers’ Resource, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to both Market Place Europe and Harrogate Borough Council for supporting Carers’ Resource at Harrogate Christmas Fayre last week.

“It allowed us to raise our profile and highlight to both residents and visitors the work we do to support the local community. The market was really popular and we spoke to lots of people as well as generating some valuable funds for Carers’ Resource.

“Thank you again to Market Place Europe and Harrogate Borough Council, and the Local Lotto for this opportunity to meet our local community, and Cadbury for their donation of Christmas chocolates.”

Harrogate Christmas Market ran from December 3 – 12, and was organised by Market Place Europe in conjunction with Harrogate Borough Council, who provided a stall for different local charities each day.
