Get yourself digitally savvy in just 6 weeks!  Beginner course on the basics to become more tech confident. We’ll supply the tablets and refreshments, just bring yourselves! Join us on the journey with 2 friendly, supportive trainers (Michaela and Eileen) to guide you through each session. Over the 6 weeks, we will be covering:

1. Getting Acquainted     

• Getting to know your tablet
• Connecting to the internet
• Moving around the tablet

2. Finding Information

• Using Google to find information
• Browsing the internet
• Exploring ways to make your tablet easier to use

3. Communicating Online – Email                                       

• Using email on a tablet
• Understanding accounts

4. Staying Safe Online                                                         

• Being vigilant
• Protecting yourself

6. Downloading a new app                                                  

• How to find and choose new apps
• How to download them
• How to set up an account
• What have you learned?
• Accessing Content
• How to transfer your knowledge to a new app
• Discovering online content – TV, radio, YouTube & Pinterest
• Using forms on a website to book a trip, table or tickets
• Ordering prescriptions online

Wednesdays from 1pm - 3pm. Starting 5th June 2025 then   12th June,  19th June, 26th June, 3rd July and 10th July at Baildon Methodist Church, Newton Way, Baildon, BD17 5NH.

Please note this is a structured course rather than a drop-in, so please do book a place, as these are limited to 10 people. We will also operate a waiting list, so if you are unable to make it after booking, please let us know as soon as possible so that your space may be given to someone else. We will supply a tablet to use during the sessions and there may be an opportunity to borrow a tablet from our device bank, for you to practice at home between sessions.

Join us for an informative and practical session as part of Carers Week:

Find out how the upcoming switch to digital phone lines affects BT customers and BT equipment. Representatives will be on hand to explain what the changes mean, how to prepare, and to answer all your questions.

Safe and Sound (Bradford Council)
Discover the latest updates on the Safe and Sound service, including:
• New and updated equipment
• Pricing changes
• Support options for carers
Staff will bring along real equipment for you to explore and will be available for 1:1 questions.
