Employment advice for carers

Last changed: Wednesday 9 February, 2022

Are you a carer wanting to work?

Getting a job after a long time as a carer can feel daunting. The Carers’ Resource employment team can help you work out what you’d like to do. We can help you write a professional CV and apply for jobs, or you can come along to one of our group workshops to learn new skills.

Are you a carer who balances your job with caring?

Around half of all carers in the UK combine paid work with unpaid caring. The Carers’ Resource employment team can:

  • give advice on balancing your roles
  • explain your rights at work
  • advise you how to negotiate flexible working

Request a free, confidential session with an employment adviser to discuss how we can help you.

If you would like to talk to us about caring and working or to make a referral to the employment team please contact us or email us at employment@carersresource.org

Carers’ Futures

Carers’ Futures is a flexible service offered to unpaid carers in the Bradford district.

The project, run by the charity Carers’ Resource, offers unpaid carers one-to-one support, by phone, online or face to face.

Carers who would like help with personal development, confidence-building, or employment skills are invited to contact the team.

Support is also available for unpaid carers who may be having difficulties at work or in education, due to their caring responsibilities.
