It’s Carers Week – find out what we’re doing to support carers and spread the word about our servicesLast changed: Monday 16 June, 2014

Carers Week sees the launch of our new online forum for carers and those who live alone.

From the comfort of their own home, carers will be able to link up with others in the community as well as our dedicated team of as part of our Caring Callers service.

Our Director Anne Smyth said: “The relentless nature of their role means that the lives of carers, and the people they care for, often suffer from isolation.

“Creating a new online community will help to banish this feeling of loneliness and offer a new dimension to the range of support and specialist advice that we provide to carers and vulnerable people.”

The forum is being launched at our Harrogate office today (Monday, June 9) 10am to 12pm; at Shipley office on Tuesday, June 10, 10am to 12pm, and at Skipton Library on Tuesday, June 10, 10am to 12pm.

The aim is to give carers and vulnerable people the ability to link with others at all hours of the day, to share stories and advice, and create friendships.

Our volunteers are also happy to visit people in their homes to help them overcome any IT issues, help them get onto the forum, and how to navigate the site.
