Consultation on North Yorkshire transport for people with physical disabilities and their carersLast changed: Monday 2 June, 2014

One of North Yorkshire County Council’s Scrutiny Committees has set up a Councillors’ working group.  Its purpose is to look into what are the services that people need to be able to access in the county and how these access needs might be met using a range of transport options.  County Councillors from all parts of the county are represented on the group.

In looking at the transport options, the working group is not just looking at buses but also community transport (transport which is owned and operated by local community groups – usually volunteers driving minibuses or volunteer car schemes).

The working group is consulting a range of people but particularly wants to consult with those who are more reliant on public transport.  As part of this it would like to establish what the services are that people with physical disabilities and their carers need to access in the county.  (The working group is also consulting separately with the Physical & Sensory Impairment Reference Groups in the county.)
