Care Act for Carers: one year on, Carers Trust, July 2016

Last changed: Friday 5 August, 2016

This report shows a mixed picture of support, assessments, advice and information for carers. There are some carers who are getting good support following the implementation of part one of the Care Act and the report gives some examples of good practice. Many carers reported that they had not noticed any differences and 65% of carers had not had an assessment since the introduction of the Act. The report proposes more investment in staff training and support for carers is needed to ensure that the rights of carers are fully recognised across the country.
