Using a PS4 or Xbox for remote learning

Last changed: Monday 11 January, 2021

In October last year William, a school student in Wales, posted a guide on Twitter explaining how to use a PS4 or Xbox games console to connect to online learning services such as Google Classroom and BBC Bitesize. This can be very useful if you don’t have a laptop or other equipment to connect to the internet. Understandably William’s guide has been in much higher demand in recent days! Read more in this article from tes.com which links to William’s original post as well as summarising the instructions.

You can also connect standard usb mice and keyboards to an Xbox or PS4 which makes using them for this purpose much easier. You can also connect wireless bluetooth keyboards or mice to a PS4 and wireless devices that use a ‘dongle’ to either console, but check compatibility before you buy!. See:
