North Yorkshire PACT – Post 16 Provision meeting

Last changed: Tuesday 9 August, 2016

Do you live in North Yorkshire?

Is your child approaching 16 and you are looking at future options for them? Has your child left school at 16 and moved on?

North Yorkshire PACT are holding a meeting all about post 16 provision.

Date: Wednesday 20th January 2016 from 6.30pm to 8pm

Venue: The Forest School, Park Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 0DG

There will be the opportunity to talk about what we think constitutes good post 16 provision and provide views to ISOS, an independent organisation which is conducting a review of SEND provision for North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC). ISOS has already identified gaps in provision in this area. Jane Le Sage, the Assistant Director for Inclusion at NYCC is also looking forward to meeting parents.

The evening will:

  • Discuss what is currently available and what provision you would like to see
  • Discuss transitions, post 16 options and help into independent living, training and employment
  • What are the implications of the extensions of responsibility with regard to new legislation extending to 25 years

Make your voice heard and help the County Council to tailor its services to meet the needs of you, your family and those with special needs throughout the area.

It is January, and it is rotten weather, but we do hope you can come along to this important meeting. We will make sure there is a welcoming hot drink and cake!

See the North Yorkshire PACT website for more information and contact details.
