LGBTQ+ History Month

Last changed: Tuesday 2 February, 2021

February is LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) History Month and we are launching our new online group for LGBTQ+ carers with a “meet and greet” session 6pm-7pm on Thursday 5 February. Contact Gavin Williams for more details and to receive a meeting link.

The pandemic has been particularly isolating for some LGBTQ+ people and these events are a chance to overcome that isolation, be entertained, and celebrate the importance of LGBTQ+ people and the ongoing struggle for their rights in a fair and equitable society.

There are lots of events taking place in Bradford to mark LGBTQ+ History Month. You can download the full programme from Bradford COuncil’s website, with an introduction written by Bradford Councillor Richard Dunbar who is a much-missed former employee of Carers’ Resource.
