Craven Warm and Healthy Homes Project

Last changed: Friday 18 September, 2015

Craven’s Warm and Healthy Homes Project provides Warm Healthy Home Checks to low-income and vulnerable householders who struggle to manage their energy use and/or afford sufficient energy to ensure a warm and healthy home

This project aims to support the most vulnerable householders suffering with long term health conditions, made worse by living in cold conditions

The Craven Warm and Healthy Homes Project doesn’t only operate in the winter months – get in touch with them now and see how they can help you get your home ready for winter.

The Project provides a Warm Healthy Homes Check that involves:

  • A home visit by Craven Home Improvement Agency (HIA), to assess householders’ energy efficiency and affordable warmth needs
  • An Assessor will check on issues around insulation, heating and energy bills (tariffs, payment options, fuel debt)
  • The Assessor will advise and may organise measures and/or refer on to other help (income/benefits, stop smoking, isolation etc.)
  • Where no other source of funding is available for energy efficiency measures or repairs, it may be possible to obtain financial assistance, in emergency situations, where health is at risk
