If you have a family member who is living in a nursing home, you may be interested in taking part in a special focus group about residents’ health.
Researchers at the University of Bradford’s School of Dementia Studies are looking for people to share their views as part of the Better Health in Residents in Care Homes (BHiRCH) Project.
It will include discussing your perspective on how acute changes in nursing home residents’ health are detected, and how you feel you could be involved in this.
Three focus groups will be held on: Friday, November 6; Wednesday, November 11; and Friday, December 4, from 12:30pm to 3pm. Lunch will be provided at the start of the workshop.
The focus will also be on how staff can ensure early detection and intervention for commonly occurring health conditions experienced by nursing home residents. Discussions will be recorded.
Those who take part will:
- be able to influence a new method of detecting and managing changes in health conditions in care homes
- be given £25 as a gesture of thanks for your time
- be given a light lunch
- be reimbursed for travel expenses.
