What is Carers Week?
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
This year’s Carers Week is focusing on building Carer Friendly Communities. Communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with needs of their own.
Carers Week is brought to life by the individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is.
What are Carers’ Resource doing for Carers Week?
As usual we have a number of events running during Carers Week on top of our usual events, including drop-ins and talks, as well as having information stands at various events throughout the areas where we work.
For information about other activities happening for Carers Week see page 5 of the June 2017 issue of our Choices newsletter and check out the news posts tagged with #carersweek and make sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to get all the latest news and photos.
